All kinds of fans

Yesterday when we were leaving practice we had some unexpected fans waiting for us. Usually there are fans waiting after the games to get a picture or ask for an autograph but this was the first time that it happened after practice.

There were three of them. They were all waiting on top of a 15 or so foot rock wall just outside of the parking lot to the gym where we practice. As we turned the corner coming out of the parking lot one of them jumped and hurled themself at us (probably more likely fell but hurled sounds way better). It was a long way down but there was a foot and a half of snow at the bottom and I think that helped soften the blow. We thought about going to get the trainer but it looked as though there were no injuries . I think these were new fans as I didn't recognize their faces but we are always excited to have new supporters of our team.

This was the first time I've ever had a fan hurl themself at me or a teammate. 

Lucky enough I had my phone close by and was able to take it out quickly enough to grab a picture.

Basketball practice in Japan

This past weekend we got back to practice after a nice little break. Because we had a bye last weekend we practiced on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday we couldn't't get in our regular gym as I think it was being used, so we had to look for another one. The gym we used was a high school gym. Most, if not all high school gyms here do not have heat. Pair that with a 34 degree day and its a little on the chilly side. If you are in a him at all this winter I hope its a warm one.

1st road trip

This weekend is our first away games of the regular season.

One of the younger guys on the team was nice enough to get some movies for the 5.5 hour bus ride. So what does a basketball team living in 2014 watch on a bus ride? This trip we have Jaws and Frozen.

Fashion show

Yesterday our team was part of a fashion show. It was a real fashion show with a runway and everything. When we got there the girls going down the runway were showing off active wear. Somebody also said that wedding dresses were being shown as well as fall collections. (As I was sitting eating dinner yesterday with the tv on they did a story on it and this a picture from the TV story).

I do have to say though we probably had to best at working the runway................. Or something like that
